From February 2020 Think Psychology Solutions will be operating a clinical psychology Student Clinic from our Deakin rooms. We will have available, a provisionally registered psychologist who is a local clinical psychology student completing a placement as part of their 6th or 7th year of training. Think is committed to supporting the next generation of clinical psychologists in our region and will do this by providing quality, real-world student training opportunities.
For our community, this means access to low cost individual appointments for clients seeking evidence based psychological treatment, with no referral required and no cap on number of sessions. The clinic will accept referrals for clients struggling with anxiety, depression, adjustment or stress issues, along with single incident trauma.
We are pleased to announce our first student commencing in the clinic will be Aflaha Khan, a Clinical Psychology PhD student from the ANU. Aflaha will primarily be available for individual appointments with adolescents and young adults, however, also has an interest in working with older adults. She is trained in both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
